Program Overview
The Vedic Varshiki Hindi Language Learning Program is conducted exclusively in-person at the South Lake Temple, a cultural hub that celebrates the traditions and values of Indian heritage. This sacred space provides an enriching environment for children to immerse themselves in both the Hindi language and Indian cultural heritage.

Hindi Language Learning Program – In-Person at South Lake Temple (2 Semesters)
Target Age: 5–16 years
Proficiency Levels: Novice to Advanced
Course Duration: 32 weeks (2 semesters)
Class Duration: 1.5 hours per week
Objective:
- This program will place students based on their Hindi proficiency, assessed during enrollment.
- The aim is to strengthen reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
- Additional focus on Vedic Math and Hindi remedial classes to help students build proficiency.
- Available only in-person at South Lake Temple, creating a hands-on, interactive learning experience.
Kaksha Programs (Grade-Based)
These programs are designed to build language skills based on the student’s age and proficiency. Students in these programs will undergo weekly sessions and focus on developing language skills through activities, games, and storytelling.

Baal Kaksha (for 5-year-olds)
Proficiency Level: Novice-Low
Prerequisites: Basic tracing and coloring skills, ability to follow directions, attention span of 1.5 hours
Course Format: Semester-based (2 semesters)
Class Duration: 1.5 hours once a week
Mode: In-person at South Lake Temple
Objective:
- Introduces young learners to the basics of Hindi in a fun, interactive manner.
- Focuses on vocabulary, listening, and comprehension through games and activities.

Kaksha 1 (Grade 1 – Age 6-7 years)
Proficiency Level: Novice-Low
Prerequisites: No prior knowledge of Hindi
Course Format: Semester-based (2 semesters)
Class Duration: 1.5 hours once a week
Mode: In-person at South Lake Temple
Objective:
- Introduces students to the foundational skills of Hindi, including simple vocabulary, basic sentences, and greetings.
- Focus on developing listening, speaking, and writing skills in a beginner-friendly setting.

Kaksha 2 (Grade 2 – Age 7-8 years)

Prerequisites: No prior knowledge of Hindi

Prerequisites: Completion of Kaksha 3

- Develops proficiency in writing, reading, and conversation.
- Focus on more advanced sentence structures, grammar, and vocabulary expansion.
- Increases fluency in both written and spoken Hindi.

Hindi Middle School I (Age 11-12 years)
Proficiency Level: Novice High to Intermediate Low
Prerequisites: None
Course Format: Semester-based (2 semesters)
Class Duration: 1.5 hours once a week
Mode: In-person at South Lake Temple
Objective:
- Intermediate-level program aimed at building fluency and confidence in speaking, writing, and reading in Hindi.
- Introduction to basic conversation, short essays, and more complex grammar structures.

Prerequisites: None
